Research content
I study the biological activities of a fermented food by lactic acid bacteria. Recently, I reported that it: (1) improved the construction of intestinal microbiota; (2) inhibited the growth of several cancer cells; (3) protected liver from damage induced by drugs, viruses, and alcohol; (4) improved lipid metabolism; and (5) reduced allergic dermatitis. In addition, a novel, personalized skin care method by augmentation of Staphylococcus epidermidis, an autologous skin microbiota was developed. This treatment increased the lipid content of the skin and suppressed water evaporation, thereby markedly improved skin moisture retention.
