Research content
We are studying the approaches for building system software and its characteristics through development of actual systems including cloud service for university education and cloud service for real time control of mobile robots. We especially focus on the file system design and design pattern for distributed systems. The platform of e-learning service of our university has been built by us, and we are gathering its performance figure through daily operation. It provides realistic view of actual cloud system operation, and we can investigate effective way of system improvement by making full use of it. We are also building a new type of cloud system which executes wide range of machine learning algorithms. The cloud is connected to ROS (Robot Operating System) to realize advanced real time control system for mechanical systems. We are building a middleware for such systems to make implementation of IoT systems much easier. The classification of patterns of communication required for this type of highly complicated real time control system is the basic approach we are taking. We hope an actual middleware program written in Python language will be able to be released as open source program very soon.
