| Focusing on lactoferrin (LF), a protein that functions in innate immunity, we are currently engaged in the development of an LF-based biopharmaceutical, in collaboration with a biotech venture company. We have successfully developed a new formulation of Fc-fused human lactoferrin that does not exhibit any immune effector functions as potential side effects associated with its use. The fusion of human serum albumin (HSA) to hLF results in enhanced intracellular uptake, thereby demonstrating heightened anti-tumor and neuroprotective effects. |
