Research content
Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10) is an essential factor in the mitochondrial electron transport system and also functions as an antioxidant; CoQ10 levels have been shown to change throughout life, but the regulatory mechanisms associated with development and ageing are unknown. I am using cellular and animal models, such as medaka, to elucidate how CoQ10 is regulated in the body.

Research theme

(1) Elucidation of the in vivo regulatory mechanism of coenzyme Q10 (2) Analysis of the coenzyme Q-binding protein prosaposin (3) Elucidation of the role of coenzyme Q in developmental processes.
