Laser engineering

Research content
One of our research projects is a solar-pumped laser that collects sunlight and produces laser beams as a new and effective way to utilize renewable energy. We used to achieve the highest efficiency in the world, but unfortunately it was surpassed by a research institute in another country. We are now aiming to regain the world's highest efficiency.
Another research project is a new laser heating test method using a laser for the development of SiC/SiC CMC (ceramics matrix composites) that are expected to be used as materials for next-generation aircraft engines. We are developing a test system that can immediately heat materials up to 1400°C using a laser.

Research theme

Development of effective solar-pumped laser
