Interaction Design

Research content
The main research theme of our laboratory is interaction design. The first topic is designing an intuitive interface that connects multiple devices interactively. Research in this theme aims to provide a platform enabling new content representation and interaction. The second one is to create digital functions that are embedded within a living environment that react to human non-manipulative behavior. It aims to demonstrate a way of computer’s existence in future. The last one is to design “fun” content and let it affects people and changes their behavior for good. The work in this research field aims not to prohibit a person from doing wrong but affects people to do the right way by offering “fun” by designing interactive digital content. Our laboratory emphasizes information technology (technology) and design in these studies. However, technology development is not the subject of our research. Technology is simply a means to realize ideas. Our goal is to design original interactions. Other than the above, we do lot of various related topics including creation of installation works. My personal current research interest is applying interaction inspired by the decentralized communication of living organisms.
